Welcome!

Hi friends and family!

This post is from Oct 7th, but I can’t seem to change the date. I wanted to post it again to update any newcomers to his website.

Thank you for visiting!

The purpose of this blog is to share love, hope and support for  Rob, the love of my life and my best friend. Not to mention the coolest dog dad ever to Dexter, our sweet but slightly crazy golden retriever.

Rob was diagnosed with aggressive, stage 3 multiple myeloma cancer. There are 3 stages with this type of cancer.  This is while he is fighting lupus,  for many years now. We had to stop all lupus treatments and medications, including his monthly infusions,  so we can focus on treating his cancer.

We are in a whirlwind and thankful to be supported to by loving friends, family and neighbors!

There are many unknowns  right now, and I will post updates as they become available. I am still learning this blogging platform, so you might see duplicate posts by accident.

The “Keep Pounding Rob”  title came from the inspiration of Sam Mills, former player and coach of the Carolina Panthers. This brave man was quoted as saying to his team “When I found out I had cancer, there were two things I could do: quit, or keep pounding. I’m a fighter. I keep pounding.”

Thank you for your love and support as we keep pounding!!

Butterfly of Hope

From Oct 7th:

Hi all

This butterfly was there to greet us on our front porch when we got home from first round of chemo on Monday. He actually stayed around and “hung out” for a few minutes instead of flying away. I wanted to keep him. 😉

Rob got a picture of it, and noticed his wings had all the colors of his schools,  UNC, Campbell, Villanova and Auburn.

It’s the butterfly of hope.

Thanks again for being there!

Keep Pounding, Rob!

Round one over and done!

Hi everyone!

Thank you for the support as we start this journey.
I will have this blog switched over to a website soon, and will post the link here.
In the meantime, here is the latest update.
Rob had first round of chemo yesterday and last night. Yesterday was at Levine  Cancer Institute and last night was at home through  a  pill.
He is on a treatment plan called RVD which is 3 types of chemo treatments he receives through Levine and at home.
He has had some side effects, including no sleep last night and burning in legs, which the nurse naviagator said is to be expected.
On the plus side, his appetite is still good. We are thankful for that.
Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers!!

Keep Pounding, Rob
